Reforming Legal Aid

It is so unbearably depressing reading about QASA and the current reforms the Government is trying to push through the criminal justice system. These changes are nothing more than a way of saving money with nothing but lip service paid to the maintenance of quality and professionalism. The aim is large providers acting as nothing more than outsourcing units. Legal advice is not like buying a tin of baked beans but it seems that the current Government, in its quest to save money, want to treat it as if it is. This country will be much the poorer for such a myopic attitude.
