I had a very interesting and successful appeal last week representing a dedicated community dentist who had been banned from driving. He had been represented by another lawyer at the magistrates’ court and received a six month ban due to some pretty basic errors made by his legal representative. These were real schoolboy errors which precluded certain points being argued. He then came to me for his appeal and after six weeks of his ban I managed on appeal at the Crown Court to get his licence back. He’d already spent over £1500 on taxi fares since being banned. The moral of the story: get it right first time by having someone who knows what they are doing represent you!
